Wind is often seen as a symbol of change, and for Amy Harmon, it was the perfect symbol for the changes she was experiencing in her life. After a move to a new town led to the end of her marriage, Harmon turned to writing as a way to process her feelings. She started posting essays on Medium, and it was there that her most recent manuscript, what the wind knows , began to take shape.

The summery of “What the Wind Knows”
Anne Gallagher was an orphan. Her grandfather died when she was 30 years old. Her grandfather had cared for her since she was a child. Anne flew to Dublin, Ireland, to scatter her grandfather’s ashes on the lake near his ancestral home. Her grandfather had given her some family memorabilia including rings, photographs, and a diary before he died that he wanted her to have.
Anne is surprised to see that she looks just like her great-grandmother in the pictures. Anne wants to write a novel set during the Irish Rebellion and it almost seemed like she got what she wanted when while scattering her ashes, she fell overboard and was rescued by Dr. Thomas Smith. When she woke up from being unconscious, it was 1921.
Thomas thinks she is Mrs. Anne Gallagher who had gone missing a few years ago. So, Anne wants to correct the mistake, but when an six-year-old boy, Eoin, calls her “mommy,” she cannot help but feel happy. When Anne and Thomas start having feelings for each other she wonders if she can reveal her real identity and go back to her real period of time!
